Camp West Scholarship Essay Competition

NewChurch is excited to offer a summer camp scholarship opportunity for Camp West attendance.

This scholarship is designed to encourage parents to reflect on the role of faith, community, and the local church in raising children. Parents or legal guardians of students hoping to attend Camp West are invited to apply by submitting an essay titled:

“The Importance of Raising My Family in a Local Church.”

Five selected essays will be awarded a full one-week Camp West tuition scholarship (valued at $459). Essays will be reviewed and prayerfully considered by the elders of NewChurch based on the sincerity of personal reflection and the applicant’s vision for family spiritual growth.

About NewChurch

NewChurch is a vibrant, community-focused local church that meets in the theater at Faith West Preschool each Sunday. We are passionate about creating a welcoming space where families can grow together in faith, relationships, and service.

We place a strong emphasis on family-centered worship. During our Sunday services, children remain with their families for the first half of the service so they can grow up singing, praying, and learning to love Jesus alongside their parents. During the message portion of the service, children are invited to participate in our YoungOnes and The Journey ministries, where they experience age-appropriate teaching in a Christ-centered, loving, engaging environment.

We believe the local church plays a vital role in shaping not just individual faith, but the spiritual life of the entire family—and we are honored to partner with parents in that calling.

Scholarship Details

Eligibility: Parents or legal guardians of students applying for admission to Camp West.

Essay Title: “The Importance of Raising My Family in a Local Church.”

Length: 800–1,000 words.

Deadline: All entries must be received by 4/17/26.
Winners will be notified by 4/24/26.
